All three of these procedures begin with your images. Scanned and transformed into high-resolution digital files. This is a totally non-invasive process; requiring a minimum amount of physical handling. Your original images are returned, in the same condition they were received, right after this is initial step is completed. The Archiving and Duplication process is complete when your high-resolution digital files are transferred to a photo CD. Many images can be stored on a CD; the exact number depends on the size of the originals. Additional copies, from the newly created digital files, can be printed with a home computer by anyone with a photo-quality printer, photo store, or most drug stores. The actual work of Restoring heirloom images is done using those same high-resolution files that were created for the archival and duplication process. Stains and dust are removed, contrast restored, most scratches (as well as some tears) and creases can be eliminated. The cost for this kind of work is predicated on the time spent affecting the repairs. Usually, one print, showing the extent of the restoration, is included in the price. Since heirloom images have a high personal value, please call us to discuss what you want restored before sending any images. (231) 932-0945 |
